Died peacefully in her sleep in Mancos, CO 1/9/2012
Sue was born in Seattle Washington to Jack and Lila Ring on May 17, 1934—“Norwegian Independence Day” she would note with pride in her heritage. Sue lived most of her adult life in Greenfield, WI. Sue was married to William Arendt who preceded her in death. Sue was a homemaker and raised 9 children. Sue had three sons precede her in death: Scott, Michael and Thomas. She will be missed by her Children: Kathy and Rich Hall of Durango; Dennis Arendt, Kerry Arendt, Leo Arendt, Peter Arendt and Kristin Mahoney all of Milwaukee Wisconsin and 22 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren.
Sue was a Greeter at Walmart in Durango for 7 years where she loved to joke and talk with customers,and of course she had a special place in her heart for small children and babies. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and people loved to be around her with her happy, contagious personality. Sue spent the last 2 years of her life living at the Valley Inn, Mancos CO where she has several friends and was cared for by loving staff.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012, from 1:00-4:00 pm, at the La Plata County Senior Center, 2424 Main Ave, Durango, CO 81301.
