Obituary for Larry J. Alcon
Larry J. Alcon passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016, in Durango. He was 61 years old.
Larry was born February 12, 1955, to Mary Rose (Talamante) and Joe Porfirio Alcon in Monero, NM. He was married to Georgiann (Velasquez) on October 25, 1975. He resided most of his life in New Mexico and moved to Pagosa Springs in 2012.
Larry started playing music at 8 years old - it was his first love. He enjoyed donating his time to others in need by playing at benefits and social events. Larry also loved to fish and camp in the Colorado Mountains. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Larry was a student of God's word and liked to play games on his tablet.
He is survived by his wife: Georgiann; mother: Rose Alcon; Children: Shugery (Sammy) Montes and Augustine (Jenny) Alcon; Grandchildren: Dominica, Sammy, Augustine Jr., Brisa, Felicita, and Byonce; Siblings: Jerry (Mary Anne) Alcon, Donald (Bertha) Alcon, Henrietta (Mike) Martinez, Pat (Theresa) Alcon, Velma (Adrian) Trillo, Randy (Tiffany) Alcon, Linda Alcon, and Bernadette Alcon; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father.
A viewing and wake will be held at the Sidekick Lounge, 677 Goddard Ave., Ignacio, on Thurs., Sept. 15, 2016 at 7:30p.m.
A Graveside will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at Ignacio West Cemetery.
