Obituary for
Angelo "Archie" Aguilar
Angelo Aguilar passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at his house surrounded by family, he was 65 years old.
Angelo was born August 24, 1951, to Lloyd Alex Aguilar and Delphia Garcia in Silverton, CO.
Angelo was raised in Durango and graduated from Durango High School in 1970. He also attended Fort Lewis College, until he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Angelo was a big Denver Bronco fan and enjoyed playing pool with his friends on the weekends. He loved hanging out with his grandchildren. He liked to fish. He was well known and everywhere he went he would socialize with friends and if there were no friends, he would make a new friend.
He survived by his mother, Delphia Aguilar (Durango); two brothers: Louis Aguilar (Farmington) and Bernie Aguilar (Durango); five sisters: Loretta Aguilar (Bartlesville, OK) Roberta Aguilar (Ignacio) Cindy, Brenda, and Yolanda Aguilar (Durango); son Angelo Aguilar (Ignacio); daughter Tracy Aguilar (Birmingham, AL) and five grandchildren: Destinee, Daymien, Darius and Deyton (Ignacio) and Brody (Birmingham, AL).
He is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Aguilar, brothers Ed “Bardo” Aguilar and Jerry Ulibarri.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Hood Mortuary from 5-8 pm, with a Rosary at 6pm. A mass will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 10:00am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Durango.
