Mojie Adler

September 16, 1925 — June 11, 2018

Mojie Adler passed away in Pagosa Springs on Monday the 11th of June, 2018. Mojie and her husband, Jim Rains, retired to Pagosa Springs, CO in 1990. She had three daughters of her own, as well as three step-daughters and a step-son through her marriage to Jim. Her husband and middle daughter predeceased her in 2016. Her legacy also includes five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She may have been born and raised in Texas, but her heart was here in Colorado with her dear friends and neighbors. She lived and traveled through-out the United States, Europe, and the Far East while married to her first husband, a career military man that served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. A working professional in her own right, she also had a 40-year career with the Defense Department. Since retirement, she had been active in community activities – serving on the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Board; on the Archuleta County Republican Central Committee as secretary and vice-chairman; and in the Archuleta County Republican Women’s Club as secretary and president. In 2018, she was elected as a delegate to represent Colorado at the National Republican Convention, which was held at St. Paul, MN. She was affectionately know in Pagosa Springs circles as the “Gadfly” for her ability to identify sensitive issues.

A memorial to celebrate her incredible life will be held in mid-July, date to be determined. All of her family, neighbors, and friends will be invited.
