Obituary for
Stephen Dale "Steve" Adams
Stephen “Steve” Dale Adams left this lifetime at age 60, February 4th, 2017 in Durango, Colorado at Mercy Regional Medical Center due to lung failure. Born January 24, 1957 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma to James and Jacqueline Adams he lived a short yet full life. As a child he was a lover not a fighter, especially to his kid sister Kari Lou Pennington. He loved to be pampered and to play practical jokes and experience life as it came. He grew up in Denver, graduating from Abraham Lincoln High School, where he made many dear friends. He became a master plumber and continued that for 40 years where he married twice and had 4 children he loved unconditionally. Passing on his love of hiking, camping, music, food and storytelling to friends and strangers alike, Steve touched many people’s lives with his honesty, love, wisdom and good humor. In 1998 he moved from Denver to La Plata County where he continued to plumb until his passion for people’s well being led him to own Body Mind Recovery Tech., a company that helps addicts recover physically, in 2008. He loved to be with and help people which lead him to be extremely involved with a non-profit, Pine River Shares, whose motto is “If everyone shares then no one goes without” resulting in a more unified community. Known for his straight-forward nature, people were drawn to him. He helped friend and strangers whenever needed – truly giving and striving to “love what is” always. He grew to accept every person for who they were. Steve is survived by his four children: Kaydee Boll, Ashleigh Bennett, Zachary Adams, Sarah Adams; his sister Kari Pennington and her two children and 8 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 Saturday March 4th, 2017 at 800 Heartwood, Bayfield, CO 81122.
