Miriam Ann Abernathy-Wilson
Miriam Ann Abernathy-Wilson, 59, died Friday, December 23, 2011 at a family home in Cedar Hill, New Mexico. Visitation will be held at Hood Mortuary on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A funeral will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Bayfield, CO. Burial will follow at Pine River Cemetery in Bayfield.
Miriam was born September 5, 1952 in Durango, Colorado the daughter of William and Elizabeth Abernathy. She grew up in Bayfield, Colo. and graduated from Bayfield High School. She lived for a short time in Plainville, Kansas, as well as a time in Wyoming, La Jara, Colo. in the San Luis Valley, and Gunnison, Colo. Miriam worked mostly in retail though she did broker real estate in Gunnison and was very successful in that market.
She loved to cook, sew and enjoyed crafts and other creative outlets. Her favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren, friends, and family.
Miriam is survived by Kami and Blake Crowther (daughter and spouse) of La Jara, CO, Betty Abernathy (mother) of Bayfield, CO, Kelly, Brett, Chad and Kenedie Crowther (grandchildren) of La Jara, CO, Danny Abernathy (brother) of Pinedale, WY, Jerry Abernathy (brother) of Bayfield, CO, Linda Abernathy (sister-in-law) of Brighton, CO, Lyle Sharp (brother-in-law) of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins,
She was preceded in death by her father William Abernathy, and her sister Robin Abernathy-Sharp.
