Obituary for Retha F. Abernathy
Retha Faye Ryan Abernathy passed away on June 7, 2011, at the age of 70, in her home in Kirtland, N.M. She was born June 18, 1940, in Taft, Texas, to Daniel Joseph Ryan and Vera May Tackett Anderson.
Her passions included art/painting, canning, and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Carolyn Depp, and a sister Belva Marie Brown.
Her surviving family members include her four children: son J.C. Tucker, Jr., and wife Nancy of Durango, Colo.; three daughters: Karen and husband Stan Berry of Richmond, Texas; Dorrie Garner of Dallas, Texas; and Amanda and husband Grant Haze of North Carolina. She also left behind 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a sister Werna Jean Roberson.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
