Roy Juan Antonio Valdez, (Juanito), 29, passed away in Durango Colorado, on July 16, 2022.
Roy Juan Antonio Valdez, (Juanito), was born on December 27th, 1992 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Antonia Martinez and Roy Valdez. Juanito was a hard worker with many talents. He never refused to help those in need. He had a great personality, a funny sense of humor, and always had a smile on his face. His greatest passion was his love for his animals and family. He worked at Bucks Livery Stables and Bears Ranch in Durango Colorado. He enjoyed taking riders on summer trail trips and winter sleigh rides. He often said he had found his place “Being a cowboy”. He was a devout Catholic and was an Acts Brother, He also had 2 Godchildren Daniel Taylor and Jayden Walker.
He is survived by his parents; Antonia and Manuel Martinez, Roy Valdez (Sandra); his siblings; sister Melanie Gallegos (David); brother, Manuel Martinez, and sister Jessica (Shandy) Cordova; brothers: Isaac and Adam Viera; Grandparents/God Parents, Roy and Esther Valdez, Macario and Adela Saiz; Aunt Samantha Valdez (Fred); Cousins, Mariah, Brandon, and Brittani Chavez; Niece, Amiera, nephews, Jayden Juan, and Cameron Juan, as well as niece Payzlee Petner. He also is survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Juanito was preceded in death by his grandparents Joaquin and Irene Romero, Lawrence Baca, and his uncle Tommy Valdez.
Honorary Paul bears are Shawn Greyeyes, Arron Zellmer, Manuel Martinez Jr, Brandon Chavez, and Juanito’s nieces, nephews, and friends. Arrangements are entrusted to Hood Funeral Home and Crematory.
SERVICES FOR JUANITO ARE AS FOLLOWS:
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 11am at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Durango (3rd Ave. & 9th Street).
Rosary will be recited at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic church in Rio Rancho at 10 Am on Saturday July 30th, 2022 and Funeral Mass will be at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic church in Rio Rancho, NM on Saturday July 30th, 2022 at 10:30 Am with a reception to follow at DArco hall at the church. A Private burial service will be held at a later date.
