Erin Brown

March 15, 1975 — April 27, 2022

Erin Spring Brown suddenly passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 47. She was born in San Diego, CA, on March, 15, 1975, to Kristi and Gary Brown. After brother Troy was born, the family moved to Seattle, WA. In 1984, they moved to Pagosa Springs, CO, where extended family lived. A few years later, the family made one last move to Temecula, CA, where Erin graduated from High School.

In January 2006, Erin gave birth to her greatest joy and accomplishment, Ava. In 2015, Erin and Ava moved to Pagosa Springs, CO, to live amongst the mountains and open skies, where Erin found much peace and adventure. Erin was an incredible mother to Ava. Erin LOVED her daughter Ava and Ava was her world. She fought fiercely as a single mama to raise Ava with opportunity, education, safety, boundaries, and the love of the outdoors.

Erin was a bright spirit. Her smile and infectious laughter lit up every room she walked in. Erin loved crafting vegetarian and vegan delights and enjoying them with her family and friends. She found much joy in entertaining. Her kitchen table was the heart of her beautifully curated home, where many meals, games, adventures, stories, and belly laughs were shared. Camping, hiking, health and wellness, weight lifting, costume creating for Snowdown, paddle boarding, biking, picnics, music festivals, and playing board games were her favorite activities.

Professionally, Erin thrived in the fast-paced, exciting corporate world. She held the Director of Recruiting and Talent Acquisition position for Travel Resorts of America, which was a perfect fit for her love of travel and camping. She was passionate about her career and inspired both her colleagues and recruits.

Erin would want us to smile and remember her joie de vivre. She would like us to live each day as she did - to the fullest. She would want us to remember her when we gaze up at the Milky Way, hear a reggae tune, dress up for a night on the town, or climb to the peak of a mountain. Erin is greatly missed and leaves behind a large group of those who loved her, who will continue to support and encourage her daughter Ava in both Pagosa Springs, Durango, and beyond.

Erin is survived by her daughter, Ava Brown; Milo and Maisy, cherished pets; parents, Kristi and Gary Brown; brother, Troy Brown; grandfather, Howard Brown; aunts, Heather and Paige Brown and Linda (Stan) Gill; uncles, Ken (Shelley) Peterson and Dan Peterson.

Erin is preceded in death by her grandparents, Joan and Ovie Peterson, and grandmother, Mary Brown.

We would like to surround Ava with all the love and support she needs to heal and thrive. It truly takes a village. All gifts will support Ava's health, well-being, medical bills, funeral expenses, education, and related needs as she navigates this next chapter of her life without her mother. Please join together to create a fulfilling future for Ava that Erin envisioned and worked tirelessly for. Every contribution will make a difference to Ava.
