Former Durango resident Ozell Goodman passed away and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, she was 97 years old.
Ozell was born to Lona and Arthur Martin March 12th, 1921 in Pitkin Louisiana, she was one of 4 children.
Ozell was married to James McCollough in 1937 and had two children Carolyn and Tom, they were married for 23 years until his death in 1960.
Ozell married Roy Goodman in 1961 and they lived in Carlsbad NM. For 20 years before moving to Durango Co.
Roy ran his own business doing appliance repair and Ozell was his business partner as well as loving wife taking care of all the book keeping and office functions for the business. Ozell kept an impeccable home yet warm and inviting, they were always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Ozell and Roy lived in Durango for 25 years, before moving to Albuquerque NM. In 2013 to live with their son, Tom McCollough.
Ozell was married to Roy Goodman for 53 years who preceded her in death, as well as by her first husband James McCollough, Brother Thurman Martin, Sisters Maxine, Laverne, and Thelma Martin.
Ozell will be lovingly remembered by her children, Carolyn Rockhold, and Tom McCollough. Ozell will also be fondly remembered by her grandson and his wife Scott and Sherri, 2 great granddaughters, and 3 Great-great grandsons, as well as numerous friends and relatives.
Ozell had a zest for life and took pride in everything she did; she was a woman of great faith and love, always kind and smiling.
A Funeral Service in memory of Ozell will be held graveside on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., please arrive at 9:30am at Greenmount cemetery 900 Cemetery Rd, Durango Co.
