Obituary for Theresa Gallegos (Valdez)

Theresa  Gallegos (Valdez)
Theresa G. Gallegos passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on March 16, 2018.

Theresa was born in Prescott, AZ on February 18, 1942. Theresa was an active member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Ignacio, Colorado. She was proud of her work as a Certified Nurse at Four Corners Nursing Home in Durango, Colorado. She also worked as a Crossing Guard for the Durango 9-R School District and as a Dietary Aide at Mercy Hospital.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Frank Gallegos, her mother Isabel Valdez and brother Louis Valdez.

Theresa is survived by her children Frankie, Rocky (Roxann), and Michelle (Jeremy); siblings Mary Helen Valdez, Dolores Valdez, Stephen Valdez, Barbara Atencio, Marie Valdez, and Dorothea Valdez; grandchildren Faith, Joseph, Lashonda and Brandon Gallegos; great-grandchildren Tavin Walker and Taylynn Gallegos; her in-laws Dr. Carl Gallegos, Maereen Zufelt, Robert Gallegos, Georgann Valdez; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held at Hood Mortuary on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. A Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception at Andary Hall at St. Ignatius. Memorial contributions can be made to Breast Cancer Awareness.
