Gary's love of the ocean called him to take sailing lessons also. Gary had first a small sailboat that he would practice with at Puddingstone Lake near his home. He took the family on the weekends, to take turns riding in small sailboat and we all had to learn before we could get a bigger sailboat. Gary taught each of his children how to sail, and many more things...from riding a bike, to driving. Gary taught night school at times also. Heeventually bought two larger sail boats-One 23 foot sailboat and one 32 foot. He took his first wife, Nancy and children on many adventures off the West Coast. Often mooring the sailboats off of Catalina Island and staying the night. Gary had a pool at home where he taught his children to swim. Gary had a Harley Davidson motorcycle that he and his first wife, Nancy would take long road trips on.
He was always up for a new adventure He took the family on road trips with a camper and /or tents. Gary learned to play the piano and organ. He became a Respiratory Therapist Later when Gary remarried, he and his second wife Dorothy/Dotty Lambert used to have garden parties in their home. Gary loved to play the organ for the party.
