Our wonderful father, Louis W. Rhodes, age 82, passed to Life Eternal Friday January 5, 2018. Louis was known for his quick wit, the ability to build and fix anything, his love of nature, family, and friends.
Louis was born on March 2, 1935 in Durango, CO to Charles Rhodes and Edith Frazier Rhodes. He attended High School in Durango and after graduation served in the US Army, serving two years active duty and six years in the Army Reserve. Louis worked as a mechanic for McCoy Company in Durango, CO and Wagner Equipment in Grand Junction, CO. In 2012 he moved to his beloved Cox Canyon and resided there until the time of his death.
Louis is survived by his son, Joseph Rhodes of Fredrick, CO, daughter Audrey Jacquez of Grants, NM, son Patrick Rhodes of Durango, CO, son Charles Rhodes of Los Lunas, NM, along with his siblings Nellie Howard, of Bloomfield, NM, Florence Kroulik, of Phoenix, AZ, Raymond Rhodes, of Aztec, NM, and Howard Rhodes of Geneva, GA, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
An Elco Cemetery dedication, near Durango, CO, is planned for Sunday, May 27, 2018.
