Christopher Cloud

December 15, 1974 — September 11, 2018

Christopher A. Cloud, 43, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Mercy Regional Medical Center on September 11, 2018. Chris had been battling diabetes for several years.

He was born on December 15, 1974 at the Durango Community Hospital. Chris was a member of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe and lived most of his life in Ignacio. In his younger years, he was a security guard at the Sky Ute Casino, when it was across the street from the Thriftway.

Chris was also an avid Raiders fan. When he was told the Raiders didn’t win, he would say they are still his number 1 team.

Chris is survived by his mother, Sharon Cloud; sister, Ramada Cloud and his children: Angelica Cloud, Sierra Cuthair and Chris Joseph Cloud and many cousins, aunts and extended family. And like most grandparents, he enjoyed his grandchildren: Gavin, Makalya, Nana, Malaya and Le’veon.

He was preceded in death by his son, Chris Stewart Cloud and his father, Roger Stewart Cloud, as well as other relatives who have gone on.

There will be a wake at 6pm on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Southern Ute Memorial Chapel in Ignacio. Funeral services will also be held at the Southern Ute Memorial Chapel at 10am on Saturday, September 15, 2018, with burial to follow at Ignacio Cemetery East.
