Gilbert Frank Reinhardt passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at home with his family by his side. He was 86 years old.
Gilbert was born on December 19, 1930, to August Frank Reinhardt & Eva M. Reid in Bloomfield, NM. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army where he received a silver star. August 15, 1955 he married Shirley Robinson and together they had 3 children.
Gilbert drove long haul truck for over 30 years. He drove for Arthur Thwaits, Boyd Richner, Don Ward, Scott & Sons Construction and Brown Brothers Construction until he retired to ranching full time.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley, daughters: Joette and Gwynna and son Daven (Janet) all of Ignacio; 3 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews, sisters: Louise Sellers and Betty (Bill) Wilkinson, brother, Paul (Marleen) Reinhardt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Carl & LaVerne, as well as sister, Eva Marie.
Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Bayfield on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 2pm, with a viewing in the Relief Society Room at 1pm. Burial will follow services at the Crestview Cemetery.
