Richard Rogers

Richard Warren Rogers, 82, of Pagosa Springs, CO died on November 5, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was born December 5, 1933 in Bayard, NM to William Coleman and Bessie (Hayes) Rogers. On July 28, 1953, he married Dora La Vonne Kelley in Telluride, CO. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, logging and being in the mountains. Papa will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family: Daughters: Loretta (Mike) Stisher, Ellen (Roy) Jensen, Tammy (Kenny) Hatfield; Son: David Rogers; Sister, Julie (Gerald) Wareham; Grandchildren: Brett (Haley) Larson, Kandra Sosa, Mandy (Bryan) Roberts, Corey Larson, Allysynn Stisher, Daniel Sosa, Krista (Jonathan) Goss, Aimee Stisher, Renee (Hugo) Lopez, Jason Rogers, Alicia Rogers, Nathan Rogers, Valerie Rogers, many Great-Grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Rogers; mother, Bessie Rogers; Son: Gary Rogers; Brothers, William “Bill,” Jimmy “JC,” Preston “Doc” Rogers, and Sisters: Amy Boggs, Emma McCoy, Mildred Clevenger and Ginger Fuller.
Cremation has been entrusted to Hood Mortuary and has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude, in Richard’s name.
