Obituary for Alva Ann Williams (Council)

Alva Ann Council Williams was the youngest of five children, born to the late James Russell Council and Estella Webber Council in Boley Oklahoma. Her late father James Russel Council who was the first black county Agriculture Agent in the state of Oklahoma. Alva was born April 22, 1926 and Departed November 29, 2016 at Pine Ridge Extended Care in Colorado.
Alva attended Boley schools and graduated from Langston University in Langston Oklahoma in 1948.She got married in 1950 to Herman Williams. The Union produced a son Daryl C Williams.
She taught first and second grade for 33 years in the Kansas City School District. It was one of the passions of her life. She was also a member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Kansas City for 57 years and held several positions.
She leaves in mourning her Son Daryl Williams and her Daughter N Law Lisa Williams, Grandson Daryl E Williams, nieces Brenda Mercomb and Staci Seely and three great grandchildren.
