Daniel Paxton

June 12, 1940 — April 11, 2016

Dan Paxton passed away Monday, April 11, 2016, at home. He was 75 years old. Visitation will occur at Hood Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at Hood Mortuary Chapel and Pastor Bob Ross will officiate. Cremation will follow.
Dan was born June 12, 1940, to Gla and Lenna Paxton in Durango, CO. He was a native Durangoan and graduated from Durango High School. He married his high-school sweetheart Marilyn (Reynolds) on August 20, 1960. Dan was President of the JayCee’s (Junior Chamber of Commerce), a member of the Elks BPOE 507 and worked in retail sales until he retired from Overland Outfitters in 2002. Dan was an active member of Grace Church and especially enjoyed his lawn and riding his awesome lawn tractor. Dan was proud of his grandsons and their accomplishments.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his children Michelle (Don) Baker and Michael (Kellie) Paxton. Grandsons; Ryan Baker, Casey (Caitlin) Baker, Alexander Paxton,Tyler (Carissa) Paxton, one great-grandson Declan Paxton, a brother Jack Paxton, a sister Jean Stock and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers; memorial contributions may be sent to Grace Church.
